六十周年聚舊

Thank you (富展) for the lovely pictures. I certainly agree with you that these pictures will become more and more valuable as time goes by, reminding us of how happy, energetic and young we all looked in 2025.

Thank you in particular for organizing the 60th anniversary celebration. This reunion is such a complete success. Every participant is able to 毫無拘束, 暢所欲言, 開懷大笑, excitedly recalling and sharing fond memories of the past. Thank you also for bringing the 同學錄 and the medals. These artifacts have proved to stimulate lively conversations.

The warm and friendly atmosphere at the reunion is all the more remarkable considering that most of us have not seen each other for over half a century. Moreover, we may not even know each other well while we were studying at Clementi Secondary School. On a personal level, I have hardly interacted previously with any of the participants at this lunch. As an example, I may not have talked to you at length in those days.

Yet, we talked to and laughed with each other as if we have been good old friends for 60 years. Our shared experience from studying under the same roof for 6 years, while being taught by our dedicated and compassionate teachers, must have left lasting memories, generating the powerful bonding between us at the meeting. What happened at this reunion is so magical and enjoyable.

We should plan for such gatherings in the not too distant future, whether in Toronto or in Ottawa.

After the reunion, 池中原 was so kind to give us a guided tour of Markham Town Square, showing us the Chinese goods stores and popular food eateries. The long line up at 港式燒臘粉麵 is a startling sight for us Ottawans. We wish such stores exist in Ottawa.

Thank you for joining the 60th anniversary reunion. It was truly heartwarming to reconnect, share memories, and enjoy each other's company. Your presence made it a special and memorable occasion!

I’ve attached a few photos we took during the meetup. In years to come, I hope they will bring back the same smiles and laughter we share today. Stay in touch and take care!

七月十二日，我們六五屆的高三校友，在多倫多，展開了慶祝畢業六十周年的序幕。而溫哥華和香港的校友，也計劃在九月和十一月，舉行更盛大的慶祝活動。今天的聚會，除了本地校友池中原，鄺潔明，李祥發，郭鍚權夫婦，和我及夫人外，最難得的，還有從香港遠道而來的梁霜筠和戴瑞年，從渥太華而來的杜智富，以及李兆汝夫婦。濟濟一堂，暢談在校時的趣事，怡悅之情，無以言表，賦詩二首，以為紀。

金中承壯志，同窗共華年；六旬重聚首，笑語話當年。

文行與忠信，校訓育英賢；年稀情猶在，風華勝少年。

It’s hard to believe, this year marks 60 years since we graduated together. What an extraordinary milestone! I believe it deserves a celebration to honour our shared journey, friendships, and the dignity of the lives we’ve all lived. Class of 1965 grads in Toronto, please join us for a lunch gathering to celebrate this special occasion. Your presence will be a great pleasure for us. Let’s make it memorable!
